The buzz about the new Nokia 8600 handset is coming to light with pictures of the phone all over the net. Lately approved by FCC, the phone is likely to have Series 40 interface, semi-transparent hood, a 2-megapixel camera, quad-band GPRS/EDGE Internet connectivity (no 3G in sight), Bluetooth, and a 16 million color QVGA display. The new Nokia phone also has an on-screen menu system, GSM radio, video & MP3 player, and 1GB of built-in memory, which may likely be an addition by external storage.

Nokia 8600 has been nicknamed ‘Luna’ and the cell phone is a simpler version of Nokia 8800 Sirocco(GOld editiOn). Luna keeps basic control intact on the top of the unique slider instead of hiding them underneath even when the shell is closed. Many industry gurus have said that the Nokia 8600 Luna’ is the spiritual successor to the shiny 8800 (and all of its variants). Albeit not equivalent to the 8800, it will still be regarded a high-end phone, not the least because of its glossy, curved design, and solid hardware specifications.
